Short Bio
She has studied at the School of Arts in Recife her hometown.
Also studied music and dance at the Folk Conservatory during her childhood.
Her mother and grandmother were painters, and she got influenced by both of them.
Born in Recife, she is the daughter and granddaughter of the two painters. A self-taught artist, she studied environmental law in Spain and lived her childhood on a farm in Itambé-PE. Her connection with nature is brought by this manner in a fluid way and expressive gestures in her paintings. Running away from the conventional, Mayssa brings a differential in her technique (the use of the blowtorch, which she brought from her 10 years as a chef, which causes explosions of colors in the paintings, which makes her paintings unique and impossible to be reproduced.
In addition to painting, the artist also expresses herself through photography, having received some international awards.
