biographyMarco CartelliMarco Caratelli born in Siena in 1979, he graduated in the year 97/98 at the Art Institute of Siena realizing personal and collective exhibitions ; now he paints and sells Sienese art reproductions just like the great Sienese painters of the time did.
Specializing in the egg yolk tempera technique , as described in the famous fourteenth-century manual by Cennino Cennini , he reproduces the very famous Biccherne , the ancient covers of the account books of the Municipality of Siena , on ancient and precious woods with pure gold , just like Duccio di Boninsegna , Lorenzetti , Simone Martini , Sano di Pietro etc.
It also follows the opulent, elegant path of the gold backgrounds and soft veils of our "beautiful" Icons , creating copies that fully revive the atmosphere of medieval Siena completely immersed in the traditions of the " Art Workshops ".
