Katia Politzer was born in Rio de Janeiro, where she has lives and works. She is graduated from Escola de Belas Artes - UFRJ and has taken art classes at the Museum of Modern Art and EAV do Parque Lage, in Rio and at DeCordova Museum and the Northeastern University in the USA.
She participates in individual and group exhibitions. The most important events in Brazil being at Funarte, Centro Cultural dos Correios, Forte Copacabana and Jockey Club.
The International exhibitions being at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris 2013; Spectrum Miami Art Show 2014; Artexpo New York 2015, 2nd Biennial of Palermo Italy 2015. She has been awarded prizes such as Guglielmo II and Sandro Botticelli in Italy.
Katia has dedicated herself to the Art Glass Works for over twenty years, mainly using the Fusing technique to create sculptures and panels, many of which have been inspired by the Brazilian indigenous graphism and Rio's landscapes. She loves the glass mystery, it's brilliance and transparency.
